CANDLE CARE

I. TRIM YOUR WICK BEFORE EACH USE

Gently trim your wooden wick by breaking off the burnt edges with a wick trimmer or paper napkin after each burn.

II. ALLOW THE MELTED WAX TO REACH THE EDGE OF THE JAR

The first burn of an Elite Scents Candle is one of the most important things required to maintain the quality of your candle. Allow the candle to burn for approx. 2-3 hours until the wax melts to the edge of the jar, creating a wax pool, which prevents future tunneling of your candle and promotes an even burn the next time you light up. Wax discoloration is normal due to natural wooden wicks.

III. RECYCLE YOUR VESSEL

When there is approximately 1/4 inch of wax remaining, discontinue the use of the candle. Extinguish candle and recycle vessel according to your local recycling center instructions or repurpose for your personal use.

How To Repurpose Your Candle Vessel

To clean your vessel and discard remaining wax, follow these steps.

1. Bring a pot of water that's about half of your candle vessel to a simmer. Place your candle inside the pot for 5-10 minutes, liquifying the wax in your candle.

2. Turn off the heat once it’s liquified. Use an oven mitt or something similar to remove the candle vessel from the pot. Discard the liquid wax in the trash can - never the sink!

3. Carefully remove the wick clip with your oven mitt still on and any other remaining pieces in the vessel.

4. Give the vessel a good wash with warm soapy water to remove all wax residue. Dry completely.
